Thriving communities foundation of strong public education. But a truly strong education goes beyond math, English, and science – it prepares students to be informed and engaged citizens. Our schools should equip young people with the knowledge and practical skills they need to navigate the real world, from understanding history and government to managing personal finances and applying for jobs.
Education should be honest, comprehensive, and consistent – ensuring that every student, regardless of where they live, has a access to the full truth of our nation’s history and the tools to shape its future.

- Advocating for resources for our public schools
- Supporting school facility upgrade opportunities
- Working with schools to promote student involvement in local government and community initiatives and encouraging civic engagement
- Continuing to call upon the Mississippi State Legislature to fully fund public schools
- Supporting the Starkville Oktibbeha County School District in seeking state and federal grants to supplement funding for school programs, infrastructure, and technology
- Advocating for safer walking and biking routes to schools
- Working to establish and expand after-school and summer programs
- Encouraging local businesses and organizations to collaborate with schools on mentorship, internships, and career readiness programs
